Darragh McDonald, MBA, BComm, is a qualified accountant and experienced finance professional with more than a decade of experience across accounting, commercial finance, management reporting and senior finance roles.

His career has included work in some of Ireland’s largest and well- known companies operating across professional practice, pharma, aviation and financial services. Much of that experience involved working directly with senior management teams and boards to improve budgeting, forecasting, financial control and commercial decision-making.

Alongside his finance career, Darragh brings broad board, non-executive and governance experience. He has served as a voluntary director and audit committee member with national organisations including the Asthma Society of Ireland, Waterford & Wexford Education and Training Board, Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Disability Federation of Ireland, giving him practical experience of strategy, risk, oversight, financial stewardship and stakeholder accountability. He currently serves on Wexford County Council’s audit committee.

Darragh is also a Paralympic gold and silver medallist and was elected to Wexford County Council in 2024. These experiences have added a wider perspective on leadership, resilience, governance and decision-making under pressure.

His approach combines technical accounting expertise with a strong commercial focus. Darragh established Podium Finance to bring that combination of senior finance experience, commercial judgement and governance expertise directly to SMEs, charities and professional organisations that want more than basic compliance support.
